Oregano (Oreganum vulgare) essential oil is a top choice for its disinfectant and antibacterial properties. Like Thyme ct thymol, Oregano is found in many commercial products for its effectiveness in killing germs. It is useful for treating bacterial infections on the skin or in wounds when applied topically. Oregano is a hot oil and should be used with caution and in very low dilution. The aroma is strong and an authentic match to the culinary herb it is distilled from.

Oregano is effective in cleaning and disinfecting (counter sprays, dishwasher, laundry, floor mopping, bathroom). For skin application, add just 1 drop to 1 Tablespoon of unscented lotion and gently massage in skin as needed to address bacterial skin issues. Oregano is not skin nourishing in any way so it is necessary to dilute well and never use on sensitive skin.
